Feeling the winter blues? And we don’t mean the dull drums of the cold and darkness— we mean musically! This Trixie writer couldn’t pass up an excuse dance along to the Fabulous Versatones. With generations of rockstar clout, the Fabulous Versatones are indeed fabulous! On every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, head to Tivoli to the Traghaven pub.
Hudson’s own Peter Jung rocks out on guitar, while local sailing hero Peter Tenerowitz keeps the beat on drums. Ambrose Verdibello is guitar, with Eric Marshall on bass. Chris Kendall seduced the crowd with his sax.
The dancing was unparalleled! People couldn’t be contained in their seats. Some people did more traditional swing dance choreography— which this Trixie writer learned was more active in the warmer months under the tent in the garden. We will have to come back to dance under the stars… but until then— dancing by the wood stove was pretty cozy and wonderful. Other’s really let loose with some avant garde dancing.
Honestly- if you’re looking to have a drink, hear some live music, feel the warmth of a wood stove and not be a bitter winter gnome, this was a social and super friendly crowd. The musicians are genuinely very talented — for a free night of jazz and dancing, there is no better way to spend your Thursdays.
