Hello Hudson!
We are living in the era of post-Cascades Hudson; it might as well be the zombie apocalypse. ‘Where should I go for lunch?’ is a constant question. There are dozens of Hudson lunch places, and I’m working my way through them.
The days are short. It’s cold and wet. Maybe you want something comforting for lunch, like warm homemade soup in a bread bowl from “Aim” 2 Please?

The soup in a bread bowl is just the right size – pair it with the salad bar to be extra healthy. The bread is freshly baked, and slightly toasted on top – delicious! Try the yogurt and fruit bar for breakfast. They usually have a fun breakfast special – like chocolate chip pancakes. Where is “Aim” 2 Please? It’s caddy-corner to Planet Fitness on Fairview (formerly George’s). Go there for the chocolate chip pancake breakfast and tell yourself that you’ll hit the gym after – or not.
The restaurant has been completely renovated and redecorated since George’s. It’s warm and cozy inside, as if you’re visiting family. Everyone is super friendly. Check out the “Aim” 2 Please facebook page for daily specials.

How adorable!
For dinner, have you visited Bimi’s Canteen for their bread and fondue in Chatham?
Take yourself and maybe someone you love on a warm-cheese date night! Bread and cheese is an excellent way to make it through an upstate winter! (A trip to Florida, or somewhere equally warm, is also an excellent way to make it through an upstate winter.)
I know what you’re thinking. ‘Trixie, where can I go to get all of the latest Hudson gossip, now that the Farmers’ Market is closed until February?’
Did you make it to the Queer Holiday Pop-Up at Kasuri last weekend? There, you could have bought holiday greeting cards made from vintage gay porn, homoerotic pottery and ceramics, or maybe a new fashionable, locally-made jock strap. There was something for (almost) everyone in your life! Put the “X” in XMAS!

Pee-Wee’s Playhouse Christmas Special played in the background.
It is totally worth a (re)watch! I’ve forgotten that the list of special guest stars include Cher, Joan Rivers, Oprah, and Zsa Zsa Gabor. How queer is that?
See you around town, Hudson!
