Hello Hudson –
What are you doing with your life? No, really, what are you doing?
Like me, you may be in a bottomless money pit of vintage upstate house restoration that you only hope to complete before you die.
You probably did not consider becoming an Amish romance fiction writer, did you? Your guidance counselor may not have suggested it.
While shopping in Ollie’s in Greenport for area rugs and dog chews this week, I happened upon SHELVES of Amish romance novels. Not just one or two books. No, there were dozens of titles, by multiple authors! One author, Wanda E. Brunstetter is a New York Times Bestseller. Who knew?
My first cynical response was, ‘Maybe these are just books that didn’t sell, that’s why they’re here…’ Yeah, but, if Amish romance fiction didn’t sell, then they would have stopped after half a dozen books. Amish romance fiction sells – a lot! I asked the staff, and they told me, “Yeah, people come in. They buy multiple books at a time.”
You could probably get so much reading done if you weren’t scrolling on Instagram. Maybe you can read while churning butter. Be productive.
For the record, YES, I bought a copy of The English Son, PART ONE of The Amish Millionaire SERIES. The guy on the cover is totally hot! Look at the longing in her eyes! Obviously, middle-aged gay men and young Amish women have similar tastes.
who found this review of the “The English Son” on GoodReads.
In case you’re NOT in the mood for Amish romance, I have plenty of new posts this week that you can read through.
See you around, Hudson!
