You would think that Betsy Thorleifson has enough to do, running the fabulous bakery, Nine Cakes at 748 Warren Street serving cakes, ice cream, cookies and sweets. Starting in March, Nine Cakes adds jars of homemade jams to the list The jams are the perfect Hudson souvenir or wedding favor to complement Nine Cakes’ creamy and delicious buttermilk frosted cakes.
When I set out to create these jams, my goal was simple: to capture the essence of summer in a jar, so you can enjoy those sunny vibes all year long. And of course, they’re perfect for party and wedding favors. Imagine being able to share the same incredible flavors from your wedding cake with your guests—it’s like spreading the love, one jar at a time.

Many of the jams are used within the cakes and tarts. The six flavors are: Blueberry Lavender, Lemon Curd, Triple Citrus Marmalade, Plum Rosemary, Cardamom Cherry, and Apricot Honey. The seven ounce jars are available for sale individually for $12, while the two ounce jars – the perfect sample size – are available as a set of six for $32.
The jams are very sweet, but some have a tangy taste, such as the cherry cardamom or lemon curd. The two ounce sample pack allows you to try them all.
The jars of jam are a great Hudson host gift for weekend brunch.
