Hello Hudson!
What do you call someone who lives in Kinderhook? A Kinderhooker? A Kinderhook resident?
There has been much (very necessary) debate over the nomenclature ‘Hudsonian’ vs ‘Hudsonite’. I tend to use Hudsonian, unless they are fresh out of Manhattan, then they are Hudsonites. Someone who lives in Catskill? Catskillian? (that’s not a bad name, actually). Valatier? Philmonter? Philmontonian? Claveracker? Stottvillian?
I had these questions today.
Also, I can’t get these video blocks to center justify. I’m debating even telling you, because most of you probably would not even notice or care. But, it irks me. I want you, my gentle, dedicated readers to know that I made several attempts to center justify the video blocks of this WordPress site – alas, to no avail.
I do what I can, folks.
Thank you to the advertisers who support this site – left-justified video blocks and all.

Erik Long’s Red Inc. Exhibition
Opening Reception at Window on Hudson
Welcome to my wacky world!
Erik Long
Window on Hudson is known for highlighting new and upcoming local Hudson Valley artists. This month, Window on Hudson features Hudson artist, Erik Long. This is Erik Long’s first exhibition, Red Inc., which has been two years in the making. Erik Long’s illustrations of creatures, plants, and human-animal hybrids have seductive red roots coiling throughout. The red roots are drawn on the walls surrounding the illustrations, and on plexiglas hanging in the gallery window itself. You are able to see through the plexiglass to the art on the walls inside the gallery. It’s a fabulous and innovative use of the space and window.
Erik Long’s Red Inc. exhibition will be at Window on Hudson through July 7th.
Don’t forget to check out Red Inc and say “Hello” to Erik Long on Pride Weekend – June 21-23rd!
