Hello Hudson –
I’ve been writing a blog in the Hudson Valley for over four years, and it’s taken this long to post an event called KALE. “Kale” is the name of a band performing at the Park Theater. One would think there would have been more kale-based events in the past four years here in Hudson.
I mean, I guess, if I wanted to look back at Mark Allen and Will McLeod, both dressed as Ronald McDonald eating kale in a window during Winter Walk, then yes, there have been other kale-related events in Hudson, but none with the official title of “Kale”.
How long will it take before we see a band called Swiss Chard or Mustard Greens? Or, maybe those are more Hudson Valley drag queen names?
Sorry, it’s Farmers’ Market humor today, folks. That’s what you get here at Trixie’s List. If you thought that was funny, then you are an upstater.
If you’re not into kale, then maybe you’d prefer some meat, see the below blurb on The Meat Hook.
I totally bit my tongue, and held back any Michael-Scott-like meat jokes. ……..it was hard…….
Enjoy.

Never Empty: Hudson’s New Tasting Room
by Lodro Rinzler
Take a peek and a sip at Hudson’s newest wine-tasting space.
The Meat Hook invited me over for look at their meat. I did not refuse, even though I’m vegetarian.
Are you ready to grill for the Fourth? The Meat Hook makes all of their own sausages in-house. Some of the sausages are kid-friendly, meaning, the sausage is less spicy, and sometimes, like the Philly Cheesesteak sausage, there’s cheese inside. You can also buy an assortment of sausages and have something for everyone. Put it on the grill and let it smoke.
They will take the time to explain how to grill each piece of meat properly.
All of the meats are raised locally in the Hudson Valley and delivered to the butcher shop whole-animal. Every part of the animal is used.
If you’re still not sure, then check out their Sunday afternoon Summer BBQ at 3pm across from Hudson Hall. Taste their meat, and if you like it, buy it.
