There are few things sweeter in Columbia County than the Mac-Hayden Coffee House. Every Friday and Saturday nights, after the 8pm show, there’s a brief half-hour-ish long performance featuring songs from upcoming shows. The Coffee House also gives the performers a space to sing material not in the shows. The Coffee House is like a mixed box of chocolates, and inside each candy is a show tune.
When you walk into the Coffee House, you are greeted by the volunteers and long tables of baked goods. Order a cup of coffee and a large slice of chocolate cake, blueberry pie, or choose from an assortment of desserts. These pies and cakes are so delicious, they would win a ribbon at the Columbia County Fair right down the block. Everything is baked fresh by volunteers. The Coffee House is so popular, that if you are planning on going, make sure that you exit the theater quickly to get a seat.
Cakes, pies, coffee, show tunes and talent are mixed in one room. The volunteers and performers come together to support local theater and help raise money for future productions. It’s the sweetest spot in town.
