Wows Customers Old And New; Now The Market In Town
For Immediate Release
Women-owned, epicurean pioneer Olde Hudson Specialty Foods has doubled in size with an expansion and renovation that offers more of everything for which the store is known and loved: outdoor seating on the porch and garden, expanded indoor café seating, and of course, more market area.
Launched in 2001 by Dena Moran, in what was then a sleepy Hudson Valley town, Olde Hudson was the first to stock global gourmet products at a time when they were scarce to non-existent in the community. Nearly a quarter-century later, Dena’s impeccable taste and tireless dedication to the highest standards continue to wow neighbors and friends who appreciate her ability to cull the finest in cheeses (over 100 varieties), butchers’ fresh cuts and prime meats, poultry, dock-fresh seafood, produce, and specialty groceries.
The new café area includes an expanded menu of coffees, smoothies, sandwiches and salads and cheese and charcuterie boards, as well as soft serve, and cups and cones of ice cream.
The new Olde Hudson, which resembles a time-honored European emporium, continues to showcase the freshest butchers’ cuts of meat, USDA Prime (a designation that only two percent of all meat in the US receives) and air chilled chicken, in addition to the absolute freshest fish from the Boston auctions, overseen by Olde Hudson reps, who inspect and cut and clean fish to Dena’s specifications.
Relationships with purveyors that Dena has known for more than 20 years yield produce deliveries that literally bring to life the idea of “farm to table.” And of course, groceries, oils, condiments, grains, and international products are on display in dazzling array, making Olde Hudson a complete shopping experience and THE market in Hudson that customers can count on to meet every need, whim, or desire when it comes to food and entertaining.
Visitors to OIde Hudson have never shied away from showering accolades, calling the market and café “the most beautiful” in the world. A walk through the newly expanded aisles not only amaze and delight shoppers with a bounty of products from near and far but wow them with sights and scents from the bustling kitchens – a truly celebrated vision from the woman who knows good food and how to continually amaze and surprise old and new shoppers alike.
“Olde Hudson is an extension of my own personal style,” added Dena. “When I first made my home here, I created Olde Hudson in response to the dearth of ingredients and imported items available in the area, things that I wanted in my kitchen and pantry. Cooking and entertaining are second nature to me, and I knew I wasn’t the only one who missed the ease of shopping for a dinner party or special event in the gourmet stores in the city. So, while I created the market, and café, to fill a need, now it’s a testament to how I like to live, and I’m so excited to share that with old and new customers alike, given how much effort and love went into the expansion.”
