This party has everything.
Disco on vinyl. DJ/County Supa-Visor. Little Orphan Annie with used cigarettes in her hair. Waffles. Ghosts with fake boobs.
Just don’t hit a deer on the way home.
You want a good Tea Dance? Take Route 23 and drive to Massachusetts, right over the border, near Catamount. Hy’s Fried is a newly renovated diner with fried chicken, biscuits, waffles, and on some nights, a dance floor.
I went to support a friend and local politician, DJ SUPA-VISOR, Mike Dvorchak – Supervisor from Hillsdale and DJ. Local politicians sometimes wear many hats – or wigs. He played disco and early 80s, all on vinyl. When someone entered the dance floor wearing a Little Orphan Annie dress, he had the disco remix (see video above). This is why you have a DJ.
The party was a blast – the music was amazing and danceable. The crowd was a range of all ages.
If you’re used to clubbing in New York City, you know that there was always a risk of getting mugged on the way home. Now, on the drive home, you have to be careful not to hit a deer.
Still worth it.
If there’s another party soon, I’ll let you know.
