October 9-10, the weekend in Hudson that used to be Artswalk years ago, a new local Hudson tradition is taking hold – Open Studio Hudson. For two days, local artists opened up their studios to visitors, creating a present-moment, “living museum” in the City. You were able to view the artist’s work, ask them questions, and see the art being produced in its environment.
Organizer and artist, Jane Ehrlich says of the weekend, “Visitors excited to be in the post-pandemic new-normal, armed with masks, once again flooded Hudson streets. Maps in hand trying to navigate and locate artists studios, some chose a systematic approach to see as many artists as possible and others knew which studios they wanted to visit. From the grapevine and not officially documented, artists were extremely pleased with sales, potential commissions and the steady stream of visitors.
With OSH’s original vision, simply- artist’s opening their studios and the connections that occur, we look forward to Open Studio Hudson 2022.”
Dozens of artists participated; the following is a series of photos of just a handful of artists in their environment, in Hudson, NY.
