This past week, a friend sent me a couple of screenshots saved by @pepperives. There was a facebook post in one of the community boards about someone who didn’t want vinegar on their avocado sandwich and the server refused to change the sandwich.
The post on the community board quickly devolved into complaints about customer service, Hudson’s eateries, and the lovely term, “citiots”, or New York City folk who move upstate.
From “citiots”, the comments devolved even further into an anti-gay rant. It’s a slippery slope. The comments were quickly deleted, but the screen shots remained.
You would think that the first response would be to be offended – but the facebook comments are so ridiculous, they become hysterical. It’s hard to believe they are even real. They read like a 1973 John Waters’ film…if you say them with a Baltimore accent. Many of us have heard comments like these our entire lives. Nothing new.
I posted to Instagram, which went crazy. If you want to read the dozens of instagram comments, check out the post on the Trixie’s List instagram account here. TheHudsonWailer and TheKinderhookers also posted stories.
The story is now “so six-days-ago”, which is eons in Instagram time, but I’m sure that there are some people who have not read it. I learned about Cardi B’s song, “WAP”, because NPR did a segment on it, so you never know who knows what.
Trixie, I see that humor is your forbearance when fighting a discriminatory situation. Well played, Ma’am, well played indeed! It’s why we love you, Girl!
Yes! Pitch this to John Waters asap! Brilliant as ever, Trix!
