Hi Hudson –
Covering Hudson’s events (and after watching Hedda Hopper on reruns of I Love Lucy), I thought, ‘Oh, Hudson’s Hedda Hopper, that could be a cute moniker’. I liked the alliteration.
A quick google search revealed that Ms. Hopper was not the nicest person! She helped blacklist people during the McCarthy communist scare. So much for that idea!
Last weekend, walking through Hudson Hall’s Proprietors Social, in drag, taking pictures, I felt a little bit like the Hudson version of a Disney character. The pics are below.
This week, my top pick is HELLBENT at Poured Candle Bar, this Thursday. It looks like fun. Plus, it’s a Thursday night – what else are you doing?
Trixie’s List reporter, Romeo Barkley, went to the Hillsdale Workshop Alliance‘s session, Tending to Honeybees: A Holistic Approach. Read the story here. It’s very interesting. You’ll learn things.
You MUST read the letter by OutHudson Board Member, John Schobel, to 4th Ward Alder, Malachi Walker below. Now you have something to talk about at the Farmers’ Market.
Having said all of that, I know my readers, and the most popular post on this week’s website, will mostly likely be the second Household Hazardous Waste Day, scheduled for June 5th. If you tried before, but the line was too long, now you can try again and drop off your hazardous waste and those mostly empty latex paint cans! Note location change.
See you around town!
