Capricorn season bring with it a twist in Mars’ retrograde journey. On January 6th the red planet moves from Leo to Cancer, putting it in opposition to the Sun and Mercury. There might be a push / pull feeling in the air where it is hard to know whether to go forward or reverse course. Mars rules Aries and is in its detriment in Cancer, making this a time when we may really feel “should I stay or should I go?” vibes. The good news is that Venus enters Pisces on January 2nd, bringing a gentle flexible calm for the start of 2025. Compassion rules the rest of Capricorn season, so when in doubt be extra kind to those who need it most. And dare I say break open your gratitude journal?
QUANTUM JUMPS: I include a meditative exercise for each sign called “Jill’s Quantum Jump.” Here’s what to do: find a quiet place, close your eyes, and use this hypnotic suggestion to imagine yourself embodying a parallel version of yourself for a few minutes or more. Take pleasure in the feelings that arise. Make notes on what arises. –JD

Capricorn the Merchant (December 23 to January 19):
Happy Birthday, Capricorn! You get to enjoy some laid back time during your birthday season, and should not do anything you don’t want to do. Saying no is the new saying yes for you. At least for a few weeks. The Capricorn New Moon on December 30th brings you the perfect balance of mental clarity and emotional peace. If you have any friends or fam or are looking to stir up drama, slip between the raindrops and don’t engage. Venus gives you a burst of lightheartedness starting January 2nd. Laugh off anyone who behaves poorly.
Jill’s Quantum Jump: Imagine you didn’t have to work and you didn’t want to work; who would you be?
Aquarius the Visionary (January 20 to February 18):
Do a little purging of stuff and of annoying personalities before the calendar turns to 2025. When the New Year comes you should be off to a rollicking start with the moon in Aquarius dancing with Pluto in your sign. The message for you is to embrace the power of Pluto and don’t be afraid to stand up passionately for what you believe in. Your detached m.o. is wonderful, but you may need to elevate the temperature for a little while to make sure people understand the depth of what you stand for.
Jill’s Quantum Jump: Embody a version of yourself who is the last of the red hot lovers!
Pisces the Dreamer (February 19 to March 20):
The Sun moves into your sector of friends and community and you may just find yourself at the center of the party. If you’ve been craving attention, you are bound to get it. If you want more time alone, well – maybe not so much. When Venus moves into your sign on January 2nd and you may feel a little clearer about what you need in a relationship. Just remember everyone is a mirror so pay attention to what they are showing you. The full moon on January 13th could be sizzling for you. Channel your charisma.
Jill’s Quantum Jump: Imagine you were the most social person in the universe. What would you do?
Aries the Warrior (March 21 to April 19):
You have a lot to look forward to in 2025, so don’t worry if the transition over New Year’s is a little off-balance. The universe is teaching you to re-connect with your innate spontaneity. If a voice in your head says to do something or go somewhere, please listen. Aries peeps tend to be impulsive and quick moving, but sometimes are held back by other people’s caution and sloth. Start the year of promising yourself you will be you, for real this time!
Jill’s Quantum Jump: Imagine you spent every day feeling good about yourself.
Taurus the Builder (April 20 to May 20):
Your ruler Venus moves into your house of friends and community on January 2nd and you may feel more embraced by your buds as 2025 kicks off. The theme of this season is collaboration. See if you can break out of your comfort zone by spending time with people you have really missed, along with some new additions to the tribe. With Mars still retrograde but shifting into your house of communication, you have a chance to be a little bit less restrained and a little more devil-may-care.
Jill’s Quantum Jump: If you let your wild side lead how would that feel?
Gemini the Messenger (May 21 to June 21):
The new moon in your house of serious partnerships on December 30th ignites an urge to elevate your relationships. If you’ve been settling for second best: stop in the name of love! This is a great time for you to seek and find great romance, and / or deep friendships, the likes of which you haven’t experienced in quite sometime. The key is to hold yourself in high esteem and stop downplaying all your talents. Treat yourself as if you were the object of desire and see what that feels like.
Jill’s Quantum Jump: Pretend your life is super glamorous and embrace the hot vibes!
Cancer the Guardian (June 22 to July 22):
The Sun’s transit through your house of romance could make sparks fly this holiday season. Mars retrogrades into Cancer on January 6th, which suggest that you may feel a little feistier than usual. Relationships are being sorted out and you may feel less beholden to living up to others’ expectations. Be your own boss. When the Cancer Full Moon arrives on January 13th, you may throw caution to the wind and speak your truth (finally). Release your throat chakra as you settle in to the New Year and all good things will follow.
Jill’s Quantum Jump: Embody the parallel version of yourself who doesn’t give a flying f*&k what other people think.
Leo the Leader (July 23 to August 22):
Wellness and daily routines are the theme for you right now as the Sun transits this area of your chart. Don’t worry if this sounds ho-hum, as you still have the chance to be a hot ho as Venus transits your house of love through January 1st. (Just hydrate plenty after a long night, and definitely do a permanent detox of any toxic relationships.) You want to start the year of with a bang and with a brand new better kind of romance. On Jan 2nd Venus enters your house of serious partnerships and before you know it you are thinking seriously about settling down.
Jill’s Quantum Jump: Embody the traits you most admire in someone you love.
Virgo the Gardener (August 23 to September 22):
The Sun is moving through your house of creativity, so instead of scrolling and worrying, focus your energy on art. When the new moon hits on December 30th you may feel like a real renaissance version of yourself. Make 10 wishes, write them down and see how many you can help manifest by the time of the next new moon four weeks letter. Romantic Venus starts hanging in your house of relationships on January 2nd, so if you are crushing hard, now’s the time to draw in more love.
Jill’s Quantum Jump: Allow yourself to dream an impossible dream, and take that feeling into waking life.
Libra the Artist (September 23 to October 22):
Home and family take center stage over the next few weeks, but that doesn’t mean you can’t party down! Use your gift for balance and meet just enough of your obligations that you can do whatever you want with whomever you want whenever you want. A little soiree that you host gets you tons of good will. The full moon on January 13th hits the top of your chart and suggests a career breakthrough just when you’re feeling on the verge of a career breakdown. The word pivot may be overused, but it fits the next phase in your work life.
Jill’s Quantum Jump: Tap into the feeling of being life of the party, and keep that mood going into the New Year.
Scorpio the Shaman (October 23 to November 21):
The Sun will be transiting your house of socializing and communication, making this a great time to use your nimble way with words when flirting or networking or both. There is a special spark that comes when you let loose about your passion projects and prod others about theirs. Collabs are afoot along with the potential threesome or time alone with your art and your heart for some just-me-some. The key is to keep it light, which can be a challenge for you sometimes, Scorpio. But not as much as people think!
Jill’s Quantum Jump: Imagine you were running a fab salon to fit every one of your moods.
Sagittarius the Traveler (November 22 to December 22):
This is a great time for money matters as the Sun transits your house of finance. You can put some dough away and also indulge yourself in some fine post-birthday gifts. The full moon on January 13th falls in your house of other people’s money. That’s the place where collabs and business contracts come to life. Who do you want to partner with on your next project? Don’t pin yourself down long term (as if you ever would!), but think about who makes your brain sparkle most?
Jill’s Quantum Jump: If you had to share top billing with someone whom would it be and why?
