Festival Holiday Hat Sale
On Saturday December 16, 2023, from 4 pm to 6 pm, the Claverack Free Library will host a festive holiday sale and silent auction of 25 national park-themed hand knitted hats. Each of these pieces of wearable art was hand-knitted in colorful wool by Sarah Brennan, a member of the library’s fiber arts group, with patterns by Nancy Bates. Each one-of-a-kind design represents a different national park.
Attendees can enjoy small plates, prosecco and live music by Mickey Knull while shortening a holiday shopping list for a favorite nature lover. And we’ll be joined by national parks ranger Dawn Olsen.
All proceeds from the sale will go towards the purchase of a new generator to ensure that the library’s open hours and services won’t be interrupted by our increasingly frequent weather-related emergencies.
Library director Thea Schoep said, “This event is not only a celebration of the natural beauty of our country, but it will help to keep the library open as a safe haven for all our patrons during emergencies that could otherwise close our doors.”
An admission donation of $25 is requested and reservations are encouraged by calling 518-851-7120 or emailing info@claveracklibrary.org.
