Any plans for Valentine’s? Here are a few ideas.
On Warren Street, between 7th and 8th, you’ll find Nine Cakes Bakery, now in its fifth year in Hudson. The bakery is open Tuesday – Sunday 9am – 8pm and offers cakes, macrons, cookies, and a delectable array of sweets. Indoor and outdoor seating in their brightly-decorated storefront makes it the perfect spot for a mid-afternoon snack or post-dinner dessert with a cup of coffee. Nine Cakes has chocolate, tiramesu, carrot, and other cakes available for weddings and birthdays (they even sell birthday cards and candles), but this month, baker Betsy Thorleifson is all in for Valentine’s Day. The couples’ cake is an ideal size for two. Custom cakes are available, and can be pre-ordered.
The treats are intricately decorated with love and care and make an excellent gift for anyone. Who doesn’t want a double chocolate cookie?

Flowers and candy are always a good gift!

Type a letter on the Maker’s vintage typewriter in their Lover Café. Hit the keys and the carriage return (be careful, there’s no delete or backspace buttons) then put your letter in the mail. Anyone who writes a love letter and puts it on the Maker’s wall, will receive a sample of their latest Lover scent.
Until the end of February, The Maker’s Lover Café has a special lovers latte as well as Valentine’s Day treats – which are both sweet and spicy.

Above all, love yourself first. If you need a reminder, look no further than the window display at LYF on 316 Warren Street.
