Architect’s Presentation, Historic Robert Jenkins House
The roof is on! Presentation, 1:30pm, by preservation architect Marilyn Kaplan detailing restoration work completed at the 1811 Historic Robert Jenkins House, 113 Warren St, Hudson. She will describe the new slate roof and work on parapets and other exterior masonry. Yet to be completed are updates to the house’s aging infrastructure, restoration of certain windows and exterior doors, and creation of an accessible entry at the rear of the house. The house, owned by the Hendrick Hudson Chapter, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Nationally Significant.
Funding assistance is from a Save America’s Treasures grant awarded by the National Park Service, Department of the Interior, and also from the HRBT Foundation, the Pomeroy Foundation, and the generosity of chapter members and friends and neighbors.
The event is free and open to the public. The building is not yet handicap accessible.
