Try It on the Trail – Kid Carriers
Interested in enjoying the great outdoors with your young one but don’t know how to get started? I have teamed up with Columbia Land Conservancy to help you start off on the right foot!
Join us for an information session on using Kid Carriers, structured hiking backpacks for carrying children approximately 6-mo through the toddler years, followed by a walk around the Greenport Conservation Area.
During this event, parents and caregivers will be able to try on multiple carriers and will receive one-on-one attention to help with fit and plan for future outdoor experiences. The group will then go for a short walk to learn about being out on a trail and the amazing ecosystems at Greenport.
This program is designed for parents and caregivers and their children in the 6-30 month range. Child must be able to sit up on their own unassisted.
Please be ready to be outside for the entire event. Sneakers and or hiking shoes are highly recommended as are full water bottles. Masks are required for adults and children 3+. We will keep socially distanced, adults will wear non-latex gloves, there will be barriers to the “drool pad” on the kid carriers and they will be swapped out when packs are swapped.
FREE; advanced registration required by emailing CLC’s Education Director Heidi Bock. Limited to 5 families.
