Dream Away Lodge Presents: Haunted Hilltop, Music Dinner & Magic w/Dust Bowl Faeries Trio
The legendary Dream Away Lodge, erstwhile stomping grounds of Bob Dylan and the likes, has reopened for fantastically eccentric (and delicious) dining and music experiences.
On Friday October 27th join DUST BOWL FAERIES trio for dinner serenades and an after dinner concert at HAUNTED HILLTOP DINNER, MUSIC & MAGIC in the historic lodge. The evening will include table-side magic acts, dinner serenades, a brief magic show and a Dust Bowl Faeries concert of macabre music. Guests are invited to come for dinner from 5:30-8:30 (reservations recommended, vegan options), or simply wander up the hill for music at 9pm. No cover ($20 suggested donation). Tip: allow plenty of time to locate this hidden gem of a venue, GPS can be unreliable, look up directions in advance!
The Dream Away Lodge has been a Berkshire legend for nearly 100 years. Rumored to have been a brothel and speakeasy during the great depression, this two hundred year old farmhouse at the edge of October Mountain State Forest is renown for its larger than life founders, Mamma Maria Frasca and her three musical daughters, and a colorful history, rich in music and local mythology.
Fine Food. Unique Cocktail Lounge. An Atmosphere Long Remembered.
The 1975 visitation by Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Allen Ginsberg and the Rolling Thunder Review, led to the Dream Away’s prominent role in Part Two of Dylan’s epic film Renaldo and Clara – enhancing an already unmatched reputation as one of Berkshire County’s best loved and most closely held hilltown secrets.
DUST BOWL FAERIES, Dark Carnival Dream Music
A faerie-tale fusion of dark cabaret, gothic polka and post-punk music, Dust Bowl Faeries is a dark-carnival band from the New York Hudson Valley. The band’s eclectic repertoire of songs draw inspiration from circus songs, murder ballads and Eastern European folk tunes. Accordion, singing saw and acoustic guitar combine to create the Dust Bowl Faeries otherworldly sound. The band was founded by Ryder Cooley (faerie queen) and her taxidermy spirit animal, Hazel the Ram. Ryder and Hazel are joined by Jon B. Woodin (rocket faerie) and Jude Roberts (hobbit faerie) for this special trio performance.
