Dory Previn: On My Way to Where
SUNDAY, November 17, 2024 at 7:00 PM
(Documentary; 1 hr, 19 min)
The 2024 documentary, from co-directors Julia Greenberg and Dianna Dilworth, follows Dory Previn, an Academy Award nominated lyricist for Hollywood musicals, writing songs for the likes of Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland. A 1960s Hollywood tabloid scandal ultimately led to her re-emergence as a cult artist in the Laurel Canyon music scene.
The Story Screen Music Film Festival (SSMFF) is a new film festival spotlighting both music-based cinematic storytelling and the songwriters and musical storytellers whose words and music deserve our collective attention. This exciting program is a collection of premier and classic concert/movie musicals, music documentaries, and experimental cinematic concert events, including several video shorts by local Upstate New York Indie musicians and artists!
