Hudson, NY- 510 Warren Street Gallery is happy to present the photographic works of Lionel Delevingne in a show titled “Histoires d’Eau” beginning Friday, April 4th and continuing until Sunday, April 27th 2025. Please join us on Saturday, April 5th for a reception with the artist from 2 – 5 pm.
Lionel Delevingne’s newest body of work explores a king of temporal beauty found in nature. A meditation on the innate abstraction of sky, water and space converging to capture the vast complexities of light’s flowing articulation of the water’s surface. The images, printed on archival giclee, hold these intricacies to form intimate, temporal connections with our world.
Delevingne, a resident of Stockbridge, MA, is a French-born photographer and author. In a significant milestone, in 2024, the Robert S. Cox Special Collections and University Archives Research Center, (SCUA), at UMASS recently acquired all of Delevingne’s work for its archives. This recognition by a prestigious institution further highlights the enduring impact and value of Delevingne’s artistic contributions. He describes his artistic journey:
“Earlier in my career as a contributor to the likes of Mother Jones, Die Zeit, In These Times, and the New York Times, my work focused on the world’s realities; however, today, I’m drawn to the inherent world of my surroundings.
In many ways, this shift reflects a reaction to these times of false news and hyperreality, where I’ve felt the need to deconstruct and reconnect with core values, renewed viewpoint. I’m drawn to the intricacies of space and light, fleeting instances, creating a minimalistic and abstract rendition of the world around me – a kind of visual haiku.”
