Making (Dark) Waves

On Saturday March 22nd, enter the realm of Post-Punk, Darkwave, and Electro-Synth for a dance infused night with two touring bands from Indiana, Twice Dark and Hypnagogia, and local HV favs Frenchy and the Punk. Special guest DJs, Freddy Hernandez (Transmission Radio) and Scott Harris, will kick off the night at 7pm and spin sets between bands. The afterparty will begin at 11pm with DJ Scott Harris’ ‘Return To The Batcave Retro Set’ spinning dance floor faves of PostPunk/Goth/Darkwave and 70s Glam Rock.

Frenchy and the Punk
Smashing together electro-acoustic hybrid guitars, loop pedals, fiery live acoustic and electronic percussion and synths, Frenchy and the Punk draw inspiration from post-punk legends like The Cure, the upbeat energy and percussive textures of Adam and the Ants, the bewitching mystique of Siouxsie and the Banshees, and the quirky charm of The B-52’s. French-born singer, keyboardist, percussionist, Samantha Stephenson and guitarist Scott Helland (founding member of hardcore punk band Deep Wound whose members J Mascis and Lou Barlow went on to form Dinosaur jr.) are a two person powerhouse of sound touring extensively year round across the US and Europe. “…a wonderful alchemy of complementary energies.” (Post-Punk.com)

Twice Dark

Hypnagogia
Hypnagogia is a captivating musical project led by the multi-talented Elijah Durnell. With Elijah at the helm handling playing, recording, writing, and production, Hypnagogia’s sound is deeply influenced by iconic bands such as Depeche Mode, The Cure, and Gary Numan, among others. The band has been making waves with their unique blend of Darkwave and Goth elements.
