Naiika Sings and 2 Blue Perform at Park Theater

Naiika wowed the crowd at the “Summer Hoot” at the Ashokan Center a couple of years ago and some attendees were determined to bring her back to perform in the Hudson Valley, and the Park Theater agreed to host! She is an uplifting singer and interactive performer.

After the winter season, it’s the perfect time to usher in Spring with a Sunday afternoon live music show.  The local performing duo, 2 Blue, aka Amy Ryan and Richard Green, will open for Naiika Sings.

These are toe-tapping, song-writing, shake your soul, musical artists that will touch your hearts and excite your feet!

Naiika Sings ~

After quitting her job in real estate five years ago, Naiika Sings bought a microphone and amplifier and took to performing on subway platforms and trains along the A, D and E lines. Her unplanned performances were based, she says, on the energy subway commuters were giving her that day. Two years ago a video of her was posted by a rider on social media and went viral as millions watched a packed train of commuters lose their inhibitions in a spontaneous sing-along. In other videos people danced in the aisles.  When Naiika sings, said one post, magic happens. In her forthcoming debut album the Haitian-American singer-songwriter demonstrates to the world why her sultry mix of soul and style has already attracted the attention of millions, including 50 Cent, Ledisi, and many more.

2 Blue~

2 Blue is a duo featuring Amy Ryan (guitar and vocals) and Richard Green (guitar and vocals) of renowned Capital Region blues act the Amy Ryan Band. Formed in 2016, the duo went on to win that year’s local qualifying competition on to represent the Capital Region Blues Network at the 33rd International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee in January 2017.

Amy and Richard’s musical partnership melds together Amy’s acoustic blues mojo and Richard’s urban blues and rock sensibilities. With a repertoire that includes originals, adaptations of Amy Ryan Band tunes and select covers, 2 Blue brings a great bluesy feel to the duo format.
