A vibrant collection of work featuring photographs and paintings, “Vision, Light, and Structure” explores a range of themes and subjects of interest. All of the pieces come together to compose a rich mosaic composite of the artistic profile that is unique to Schoharie County.Featured artists include Gary Bower, Christine Harris, Ursula Carr Bower, Christopher Lisio, Denise Kelty, Elizabeth Apgar-Smith, Stephen Spretnjak, David Smyth, Jonathan Stasko, and Scott Keidong.An opening reception for “Vision, Light, and Structure” will be held on Sunday, July 9 from 1-3pm. This exhibit will be open to the public and on view from Friday, July 7 to Sunday, August 13. Gallery@CREATE is located at 398 Main Street in Catskill and is open Fridays, 4pm-7pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays, 11am-6pm. The exhibit is free and open to the public. SCHOHARIE COUNTY ARTS – It is the mission of Schoharie County Arts to broaden and enrich the quality of life in Schoharie County by developing and strengthening the arts through promoting cultural and arts-related activities, educating the public, advancing individual artists and arts organizations, and utilizing arts-related technology while contributing to the cultural and economic growth in the County.CREATE COUNCIL ON THE ARTS is a non-profit, arts service organization whose purpose is to support and advance the arts and cultural community by broadening and enriching creative resources and economic growth in the region. CREATE serves as the Statewide Community Re-grant arts organization for Greene, Columbia and Schoharie Counties.Since 1975, CREATE has provided information and essential services to artists, arts organizations, cultural and educational institutions, civic groups, community agencies and the general public, and continues to grow its outreach as a regional arts council.
