About The Soup of Sleep:
“We all sleep—sleep soaks up about 1/3 of our time on earth. Most of us cannot describe coherently what takes place during sleep. We wade into a familiar ocean, but wake up on a foreign shore. A lot pours into our sleep—not just dreams!
It is challenging to share this state of mind with others. My approach has been to observe my mind behind closed eyes as I fall asleep, and as I awaken.
This is a lot like wading into a familiar ocean, but waking up on a foreign shore, with wild sloshing about in the interim. I scribble notes, and later make paintings. A film crystalizes out of those ephemeral bits. I do not try to force my sleep to make sense.” —Sandy Moore, Filmmaker
