“T(HERE)”
A collective exhibition of local artists set to debut at CREATE Council On The Arts’ upstairs gallery space offers viewers an intimate look at the inner lives of seven photographers as they navigate and interact with local and distant terrain.
“T(HERE)” is a show of photographs weaving external and internal landscapes in a synthesis of each that is both inviting and arresting. “Each photograph is a testament to the interconnectedness of our outer and inner worlds,” explains show curator Jessica Chappe, “illustrating how our personal narratives are shaped by the places we’ve been, the people we’ve encountered, and the emotions we’ve felt.”
Through the lens of the photographers, the audience embarks on an odyssey, experiencing the allure of uncharted territories, diverse ecosystems, and more personal wanderings. As viewers, T(HERE) is an invitation to reflect on the intersections of place and self, prompting contemplation about the individual stories that shape our collective human experience.
Featured artists include Anna Victoria, Jessica Chappe, and Luca Pearl Khosrova of Catskill;
Emily Sprague, Elizabeth Celeste Ibarra, and Véra Haddad of Palenville; and Katherine March Driscoll from Germantown.
An opening reception for T(HERE) will be held on Friday, Oct. 13 from 6-8pm. This exhibit will be open to the public and on view from Friday, October 13 to Sunday, November 14. Gallery@CREATE is located at 398 Main Street in Catskill and is open Fridays, 4pm-7pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays, 11am-6pm. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
