TOM JUDSON IS LOONEY: Songs About the Moon
Since he was a kid trying (and failing) to stay awake for the first moon landing in 1969, Tom Judson has been fascinated by the moon. He’s now turned his obsession into a delightfully entertaining cabaret evening called “Tom Judson is Looney”, coming to Catskill’s Bridge Street Theatre for one night only, Saturday August 20 at 7:30pm. Drawing on an almost inexhaustible catalogue of popular melodies about the Great Lunar Body, from the well-known to the obscure, from Gilbert & Sullivan to Henry Mancini, the handsome and charming Judson (accompanying himself on the piano) offers a panoply of tunes on a subject that has proved irresistible to songwriters. This unforgettable evening of scintillating and sophisticated music-making will be presented on Bridge Street Theatre’s “Priscilla” Mainstage, located at 44 West Bridge Street in the Village of Catskill, NY. Discount advance tickets are available online at bridgest.org/tom-tickets/ for $15 (plus a small service fee). Tickets can be also be purchased at the door (subject to availability) one-half hour prior to the performance for $20. For additional information regarding the performance, visit bridgest.org/tom-judson/. C’mon out and howl at the moon with us!
