The 1975 British psychedelic musical fantasy, written and directed by Ken Russell, based on The Who’s 1969 rock opera album of the same name, tells the story about a “psychosomatically deaf, mute, and blind” boy who becomes a pinball champion and religious leader. The film features a star-studded ensemble cast, including the band members themselves (most notably, The Who’s lead singer Roger Daltrey, in the title role), Ann-Margret, Oliver Reed, Eric Clapton, Tina Turner, Elton John, Robert Powell and Jack Nicholson.
Story Screen Music Film Festival Synopsis: Story Screen Cinema is proud to partner with Musician & Director Jeremy Schonfeld to announce its inaugural Story Screen Music Film Festival (SSMFF) on November 13 – 17, 2024. The festival presents eleven film screenings featuring a selection of genres – narrative, documentary, live performances, short films and more – all based around the symbiotic relationship between the video and audio mediums.
