Twelfth Night, Or What You Will at the Churchtown Dairy Globe

The Columbia County Players presents a community production of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy Twelfth Night, Or What You Will, directed by Carol Rusoff and Zach Gibson, with a diverse, all-local, Hudson Valley cast from seasoned professionals to first-time actors. Presented by the Columbia County Players in the Round Barn at Churchtown Dairy, located in Hudson, New York, Twelfth Night, Or What You Will is a free summer community production with performances on four nights only, Thursday, August 22; Friday, August 23; Saturday, August 24; and Sunday, August 25 at 7:30pm. Doors open at 7:00pm. Wandering Dave’s Food Truck will be onsite pre-show each evening beginning at 6:00pm with a locally sourced menu of food and drink, including pre-order charcuterie board options featuring Churchtown Dairy’s award-winning, biodynamic farmstead cheeses. Written more than 400 years ago, Shakespeare’s delightful comedy Twelfth Night, Or What You Will gleefully tangles our perceptions of romantic love into hilarious knots, only to untangle before the curtain falls. Set on the coast of Illyria (now Croatia), this mischievous play is full of pranks and capers toppling the social order of the Illyrian court with characters overthrowing class and gender barriers, while the audience bears witness to the shocking discoveries and delights revealed by the characters’ quest for adoration. Laughter abounds in this tale of mistaken identity, deception, and our eternal love of love.
