Please join us for the launch of THAT TIME OF YEAR, a new reading series at Spotty Dog Books, 440 Warren St, in Hudson, NY on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 7pm.

THAT TIME OF YEAR is a quarterly-ish reading series featuring writers sharing work around a theme. August’s theme is “Animalia: writers and animals.”

The inaugural event will welcome poet and essayist, Cat Tyc, and novelists Andrea Kleine and Laura van den Berg.

Cat Tyc is an interdisciplinary writer/artist who has three chapbooks, AN ARCHITECTURAL SEANCE (dancing girl press & studio), CONSUMES ME (Belladonna* Collaborative) and I AM BECAUSE MY LITTLE DOG KNOWS ME (Blush Lit).

Laura van den Berg is the author of five works of fiction, and a recent Guggenheim and NEA fellow. Her new novel, STATE OF PARADISE (FSG), published in July.

Andrea Kleine is the author of the novels, CALF (Soft Skull Press) and EDEN (HMH/Mariner). Her feature film, THE END IS NOT WHAT I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE, created in isolation during the pandemic, is now streaming.
