Celebrate Autumn with Dahlias, Antiques, and Sweet Treats!

October 12th, 2024 – Kinderhook, NY – Mercantile at the Vanderpoel House will host The Dahlia Event, a celebration of local flower farm Damsel Garden, and its stunning early-fall blooms, on Saturday, October 12th, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Nestled within the Columbia County Historical Society’s Vanderpoel House, the Mercantile invites visitors to step back in time and enjoy a day filled with the beauty of autumn.

Attendees will find buckets of fresh dahlias, grown at Stuyvesant’s Damsel Garden, as well as an edited selection of antique books about flowers, gardening, and farming, dahlia cookies from Kinderhook’s Dough & Batter, and other charming floral gifts.  And as it is a party, Old Chatham’s Crummy Baker will provide a stunning dahlia cake and cupcakes for guests.  

“The Dahlia Event at The Mercantile is more than just a shopping experience; it’s a celebration of the season and our local community,” explains CCHS Executive Director, Lisa Weilbacker. “We’re thrilled to bring together the exquisite dahlias from Damsel Garden, the culinary talents of Dough & Batter and Crummy Baker, and our carefully curated collection of antiques in the beautiful setting of the Vanderpoel House.”
